Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Entebbe - Birding at Uganda Wildlife Education Center

  • Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and start your tour with birdwatching at the Uganda Wildlife Education Center, home to over 170 species of birds.
  • Later, visit the nearby Botanical Gardens for more birdwatching opportunities before returning to your accommodation.

Day 2Heritage Trail and Lutembe Bay

  • Explore the Heritage Trail, home to various bird species, including the Brown Crowned Tchagra and Violet-backed Starling.
  • Take a boat ride on Lutembe Bay to spot Papyrus Gonolek, Grey-headed Gulls, and other water birds.

Day 3Mabamba Swamps

  • Travel to Mabamba Swamps, a haven for birdwatchers, to search for the elusive Shoebill, along with a range of herons, geese, and waterfowl.
    • Continue birdwatching along the swamps, spotting species such as the African Jacana and the Yellow Crowned Bishop.

Day 4Mabira Forest Birding

  • Head to Mabira Forest, a rich birding destination offering sightings of the Yellow-whiskered Greenbul, Forest Robin, and Blue-breasted Kingfisher.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch in the forest before continuing your birding adventure.

Day 5Lake Mburo National Park
