Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Kabale and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

  • Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be met by your driver and guide who will transfer you to Kabale, a town known as the “Switzerland of Uganda” for its breathtaking hills and valleys. The drive takes about 8 hours, offering scenic views of the countryside and the vibrant landscape of southwestern Uganda.
  • Arriving in Kabale, you’ll enjoy a brief town tour before heading to Lake Bunyonyi. Located just 7 kilometers from Kabale, Lake Bunyonyi is the second deepest lake in Africa, and a perfect place for relaxation. Upon arrival, check-in at your lakeside accommodation.
  • Relax and enjoy a peaceful evening watching the sunset over the lake.

Day 2Canoeing, Birdwatching, and Lake Exploration

  • After breakfast, start your day with a guided canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. Glide across its crystal-clear waters, passing by islands such as the Nyombi Islands, known for their lush vegetation and natural beauty.
  • Lake Bunyonyi is also a paradise for birdwatchers, with over 200 species of birds to spot, including herons, kingfishers, and egrets. Your guide will help you identify various bird species as you paddle through the lake.
  • After lunch, enjoy a short hike or bike ride along the shores of Lake Bunyonyi, exploring the local villages and meeting the indigenous Bakiga people. Learn about their rich traditions and lifestyles, and interact with the locals.

Day 3Kabale Cultural Experience and Return to Entebbe

  • After lunch, begin your journey back to Entebbe for your departure.
